Round tables for improved use of climate science in municipal planning

(Credit: John Picken via Wikimedia)The CPO Sectoral Application Research Program (SARP), in partnership with the American Planning Association (APA), held two round tables with the goals of advancing efforts to improve use and delivery of climate information in municipal planning.
The round table held Washington, D.C. on March 9 convened 40 representatives from entities including the Department of Transportation, National Association of Counties, General Services Administration, Department of Housing and Urban Development, Water Environment Research Foundation, FEMA, and EPA. The Chicago round table held on March 21 convened 30 representatives from regional groups such as the Alliance for the Great Lakes, Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning, American Society of Adaptation Professionals, Kresge Foundation, and the NOAA and CPO-supported Great Lakes Integrated Sciences and Assessments team
SARP supports and collaborates with APA on the Water Resources Dashboard.
