RISA organized a panel and a poster session at the Global Council for Science and the Environment 2022 Annual Conference which took place virtually from June 21-24th. The sessions explored examples of transformative change that RISA teams have accomplished in their regions, as well as some of the recent innovative approaches RISA has taken to address climate adaptation.

The Alaska Center for Climate Assessment and Policy (ACCAP), a NOAA RISA team, aids in response to a large tundra wildfire threatening Native communities in southwest Alaska

ACCAP maintains an ongoing relationship with rural Alaska communities, serving as an important resource for climate information when it is needed the most.

GLISA, a NOAA RISA Team, contributed to a new report on Scaling-up Stakeholder Engagement Efforts to Inform Better Communication & Uptake of NOAA Great Lakes Ice Forecast Information

This CPO-supported team helped gather stakeholder input to inform future updates to the Great Lakes ice forecast model. Specifically, they provided recommendations for development of the user interface, and worked to better characterize user information needs that NOAA may be able to address.

Updated and Improved High-Impact Events Database Cataloging Developed by Western Water Assessment Catalogs Historical Weather and Climate Events in the Intermountain West

The recently updated High-Impact Weather and Climate Events Database is a resource collection of significant weather and climate-related events in Colorado, Utah, and Wyoming.
