A multimedia report is now available for the 2015 El Niño Conference held November 17-18, 2015 in Palisades, NY. NOAA’s Climate Program Office co-sponsored this conference, in partnership with the World Meteorological Organization (WMO), the International Research Institute for Climate and Society (IRI) and the US Agency for International Development (USAID).

The conference served as a platform for providing information about ENSO and its impacts; highlighting advances and future directions in climate research and forecasting, as well as in societal capacity to plan for and respond to climate variations; and exploring potential linkages between climate change and ENSO.

In addition, the Forum coincided with the 20th anniversary of the International Forum on Forecasting El Niño: Launching an International Research Institute, which was convened by the head of NOAA at the time (Dr. James Baker), on behalf of the USG, providing an opportunity to highlight NOAA’s important role in advancing climate forecasting and applications.

The online version of the El Niño 2015 Conference Report includes recordings and summaries of the talks and panels, participant interviews, social media interactions and conference feedback.

The digital report as well as its the printable PDF version can be found at http://iri.columbia.edu/elnino2015conference/
