CLIMAS RISA helps produce first ever Hopi Quarterly Drought Status Report

hopi

In partnership with the Hopi Department of Natural Resources, Climate Assessment for the Southwest (CLIMAS) – a RISA program – has helped generate the first ever Hopi Quarterly Drought Status report.

The two-page report outlines current conditions of the Hopi Reservation. The report covers range condition, precipitation totals, and drought conditions in the Southwest.

According to the report’s Southwest Outlook/Conclusions section, there is “no immediate relief in sight” for the drought conditions across the Southwest. “Warm and dry conditions are expected to continue through the spring season, with the potential for further expansion and intensification of drought impacts across the region.”
