CPO's National Integrated Drought Information System (NIDIS) and regional partners will host a California-Nevada Drought Early Warning System (CA-NV DEWS) Partner Meeting on November 18-19, 2019, in Sacramento, CA. This meeting will bring together federal, state, local, tribal, academic, private sector, and non-governmental partners. Attendees will share and discuss ongoing drought activities, learn about new and innovative drought research and resources, explore emerging issues and opportunities, and identify collaborative paths forward for the CA-NV DEWS network to continue to help the region monitor, forecast, plan for, and cope with the impacts of drought.
Outcomes will be integrated into the 2020-2022 CA-NV DEWS Regional Implementation Plan and will build upon the priorities identified at the 2017 CA-NV DEWS Partner Meeting. Hosted by NIDIS, the meeting planning partners include the California and Nevada state climatologists, the Western Regional Climate Center, CNAP NOAA RISA team, NWS Western Region, the California USDA Climate Hub, and more.
