CPO CEE Division Chief David Herring was invited to join a conversation with a group of faith leaders from across the United States at 2 pm ET on Feb. 21. This event is part of an ongoing series of “Climate Cafes,” hosted by Faiths4Future—a nonprofit organization of faith leaders, clergy, lay people, and leaders of different faith traditions who recognize the urgency of today’s climate crisis and the necessity of taking action at all levels. Specifically, David was asked to speak about the causes and effects of sea level rise, categories of response options that communities can consider, and communication strategies for promoting positive action.
MultiFaith Climate Cafes are held on the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Tuesdays of the month at 2:00 pm ET. They offer an opportunity for faith leaders and clergy to learn more about climate science, ask questions, share their own experiences and perspectives, and engage in discussions around the subject of climate change, climate impacts, and climate solutions. The goals are to build a deeper understanding and to find ways of inspiring hope within faith communities.
