The Climate Program Office’s Climate Observations and Monitoring (COM) and Climate Variability and Predictability (CVP) Programs sponsor the Sea Ice Modeling Collaboration Team, a group dedicated to advancing cross-OAR and NOAA-wide sea ice modeling activities. The Team will convene a collaborative hybrid-model workshop at the University of Colorado, Boulder, from April 25th to 27th. Participants from multiple NOAA line offices, academic institutions, and other organizations will meet to share work on model development, novel ways of evaluating models, targeting model applications, and new opportunities for advancing models. The goal of the workshop is to prioritize approaches for collaborations within OAR and across NOAA on sea ice modeling needs, to produce recommendations on targeted model development projects, and to identify barriers and transition opportunities within this work.
