Pacific RISA Contributors Help Produce Regional Assessment Report

 

The Pacific Islands Regional Climate Assessment (PIRCA) released its first reportClimate Change and Pacific Islands: Indicators and Impacts (Island Press). The report is aimed at assessing the state of knowledge about climate change indicators, impacts, and adaptive capacity of the Hawaiian archipelago and the US-Affiliated Pacific Islands (USAPI).

Global Sea Level Rise Scenarios for the United States National Climate Assessment

NOAA has released a report that estimates global mean sea level rise over the next century based on a comprehensive synthesis of existing scientific literature. Scientists have very high confidence (greater than 90% chance) that global mean sea level will rise at least 8 inches (0.2 meter) and no more than 6.6 feet (2.0 meters) by 2100.
