From July 28-30, CPO’s Education Program is partnering again with Climate Generation and the Wild Center’s Youth Climate Program on the Summer Institute for Climate Change Education. Through this virtual conference, teachers from across that nation will gain the skills, tools, and resources to teach climate change in all subject areas.
This will be Climate Generation’s 16th annual Summer Institute for Climate Change Education and will support around 300 educators and climate change education professionals. K-12 educators throughout the country that teach science, social studies, English language arts, math, and more registered for the conference.
This three-day experience will include networking with a national audience, as well as one full day dedicated to working, planning, and learning with regional cohorts. 13 regional partners across North America have been working to create an innovative, collaborative, and solutions-focused virtual conference with the national teams.
Educators will attend a regional cohort workshop facilitated by a regional cohort leader on the second day to focus on place-based climate change education and the need for ongoing support throughout the year. Each of these cohort leaders are climate change education experts within their communities. This small group of 20-50 educators will explore local impacts, actionable solutions, connections to local experts, and planning and networking.
