NOAA’s Climate Program Office today launched a newly redesigned version of Climate.gov, NOAA’s award-winning, flagship website that provides the public with clear, timely, and science-based information about climate.

The newly formalized partnership will advance NOAA’s mission and, in parallel, provide critical technical support and scientific underpinnings for U.S. foreign policy, diplomacy, and national security endeavors related to climate.

The Project will harness the expertise of multiple U.S. agencies and partners to advance the development of tools, approaches, and capacity for integrating coastal blue carbon, such as seagrasses and mangroves, in the preparation of national greenhouse gas inventories in select developing countries. 

The NOAA Blue Carbon Inventory Project addresses the nexus of climate, ecosystems and the human communities that depend on them, and provides opportunities to explore co-benefits for mitigation and adaptation. The effort also demonstrates how NOAA can work across line offices and the U.S. government agency community to share scientific, technical, and stewardship knowledge and experience with other countries

Researchers funded by CPO's Climate and Societal Interactions (CSI) Division utilize partnerships and engagement activities to develop knowledge and decision support tools that can better address the risk management needs of specific sectors and stakeholders.
