This article kicks off a series of interviews with NOAA Climate Program Office (CPO) employees and CPO-funded scientists in celebration of Women’s History Month.

Kathie Dello is the state climatologist of North Carolina and the director of the North Carolina State Climate Office (NCSCO). She is the 5th permanent director and first woman to hold this position at the NCSCO in the office’s history.

CPO’s Regional Integrated Sciences and Assessments (RISA) Program will host two webinars to facilitate improved understanding of the RISA Program and the 2022 Funding Opportunity. The webinars will review the basics of the four competitions and answer live questions from attendees.

The Regional Integrated Sciences and Assessments (RISA) program supports the development of knowledge, expertise, and abilities of decision makers to plan and prepare for climate variability and change. Through this announcement, CPO is seeking applications for two competitions in FY21: 1) a competition for regional RISA teams in nine U.S. regions, and 2) a competition for collaborative planning activities in the Southeast and U.S. Caribbean.
