This August 24th webinar will increase the capacities of the FEMA’s staff to address the challenges associated with the climate crisis as part of the Hurricane’s Irma and María recovery efforts.

Approximately $11.1 million will be available in FY23 to start new awards in about six different topic areas, pending budget appropriations. 

The Simple Planning Tool for Texas Climate Hazards, previously available in Oklahoma and Arkansas, assists planners, emergency managers, and decision makers in Texas who are assessing their long-term climate risks, both historically and in the future.

The study reveals that weather patterns are changing in a way that enhances wildfire hazard in California, while the frequency of weather patterns linked to historical floods is not diminishing. These changes exhibit the rising hazards of weather extremes in California’s present and future.

This virtual webinar, titled Climate and Infrastructure Funding: A Conversation on Justice Opportunities and Challenges, will bring individuals together from different sectors to identify environmental justice funding and capacity-building resources for disaster resilience when implementing community-led projects.
