NOAA’s Climate Program Office (CPO) announced today a total award amount of $171 million, the highest five-year investment in the program’s history, to support 72 innovative and impactful projects that will improve our nation’s resilience at a critical time in the fight against the climate crisis.

The Northern Great Plains faces a number of climate hazards and these targeted resources can help communities across the region build climate resilience.

The purpose of this and other sessions in the forum series is to engage scientists and thought leaders in discussions to define and help people understand the challenges and risks that climate change poses to the United States and the world.

Eric is currently training in the University of Colorado School of Medicine’s Fellowship in Climate and Health Science Policy and will be collaborating with NOAA throughout this academic year.

Frank is coordinating federal agencies, climate education, and future workforce initiatives as part of his responsibilities to support the development of a climate-smart and literate nation.
