Coggin spoke about the importance of the campaign in an interview with NBC4 as he volunteered with the Arlington County, Virginia community in their efforts to map urban heat.

With the addition of data for Hawai’i and U.S. island territories, the U.S. Climate Resilience Toolkit’s Climate Explorer tool now offers climate projections for every county in the entire United States. The updated tool also features user-centered enhancements that make it easier to understand climate conditions projected for the future.

Climate Generation’s 16th annual Summer Institute for Climate Change Education will support around 300 educators and climate change education professionals. Teachers from across that nation will gain the skills, tools, and resources to teach climate change in all subject areas.

Created to call municipal leaders to action, the 2021 Climate Action Plan for the Chicago Region aims to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by at least 80% from 2005 levels by 2050 and highlights ways to equitably build climate resilience and a vibrant economy at the municipal level.

The 2021 Climate Action Plan for the Chicago Region, co-authored by the Metropolitan Mayors Caucus and the NOAA Climate Program Office, will serve a region which is home to nearly 9 million people in more than 280 cities, towns, and villages. It is one of the first regional climate plans in the United States.
