Wayne Higgins, Director of the NOAA Climate Program Office (CPO), leads U.S. engagement in the Global Framework for Climate Services through his role as the U.S. principal to the Intergovernmental Board on Climate Services (IBCS).
NIDIS Director Roger Pulwarty gave the keynote address on climate services and adaptation at the WCRP-Latin American and Caribbean Conference on Developing, Linking, and Applying Climate Knowledge.
NOAA sponsored the Tropical Pacific Observing System-2020 (or TPOS-2020) workshop Jan. 27-30 at Scripps Institution of Oceanography. CPO's David Legler and Sidney Thurston joined more than 60 international scientists in discussions of the future observing needs and strategies for this important region of the world.
CPO's Adam Parris and Caitlin Simpson spoke at the National Council for Science and the Environment's conference: "Building Climate Solutions," which took place in Arlington, Va. from Jan. 28-30.
The National Coordinated Soil Moisture Monitoring System workshop, led by the National Integrated Drought Information System (NIDIS), was held on Nov. 13-14 in Kansas City, MO.
