This summer, citizen scientists will map hot spots, known as “urban heat islands,” in 13 cities across the country to help communities identify areas where they can take action to protect people from heat stress.
From July 22-24, 2020, the three-day training will provide educators with skills, tools and resources to teach climate change concepts and empower students in all subject areas.
The partnership kicked off this week with the onboarding of a Office of National Marine Sanctuaries-CPO shared position: Climate Coordinator/Visiting Scientist, Dr. Zac Cannizzo.
The new version aims to improve support for local planners, policy leaders, and facility and resource managers by giving people a way to explore conditions projected for their locations in the coming decades.
