  • 8 November 2022

Event date: 2/2/2023 3:00 PM - 3:45 PM Export event

Melissa is a research scientist at the NOAA Physical Sciences Laboratory where she develops subseasonal forecast models for food insecure regions using machine learning techniques. She was recently a NOAA Climate and Global Change postdoctoral fellow in the NOAA Chemical Sciences Laboratory, where she studied the relationship between the seasonal cycle of the north Pacific jet and its impact on deep mass transport over western North America. Melissa has also studied north Pacific blocking quite extensively, but really, anything involving rotating fluids holds her interest!
