img-DAM3

Drought affects every aspect of the water sector and those effects are not just limited to the region which experiences it directly. To help water utilities better plan for and mitigate drought impacts and advance long-term drought resilience the National Integrated Drought Information System (NIDIS) is partnering with the American Water Works Association (AWWA) to host a three-part webinar series for AWWA members.

The webinar series will cover tools and resources for monitoring, predicting, and planning for drought; an overview of the current drought in the context of the unique climate in the western United States; and long-term trends and future climate change projections of drought in the West.

The three webinars include:

  • July 29th: “Updated U.S. Drought Portal Provides Comprehensive User Information”
  • August 24th: “Exceptional Drought and Historic Extremes in the U.S. West”
  • August 31st: “An Eye to the Future: Examining Long-term Drought and Climate Change Trends”
