1821noaamd
22-23 October 2013
College Park, MD
The occasion of the 38th Climate Diagnostics and Prediction Workshop (CDPW; taking place 10/21 – 10/24) is being used as a platform for the first meeting of the NOAA Climate Prediction Task Force (CPTF). The CPTF is jointly hosting two days of the CDPW (10/22 and 10/23).  The joint meeting will feature sessions on intra-seasonal to inter-annual predictability and prediction, including long-range forecasts of extremes and a special session on the National Multi-Model Ensemble (NMME) science and applications. During these sessions, CPTF investigators as well as external investigators will have the opportunity to present their most recent work and discuss their findings. At the end of the joint meeting (Wednesday, October 23 from 1:30 to 5:30PM), the CPTF will hold a closed session to discuss on-going work and plan future activities.
The Climate Prediction Task Force is organized by the Modeling, Analysis, Predictions and Projections Program under the Climate Program Office to achieve significant new advances in current capabilities to understand and predict intra-seasonal to inter-annual climate variability.
