img-pasted-image-0-6

On November 23rd, the National Integrated Drought Information System (NIDIS) and the California-Nevada Climate Applications Program (CNAP), a CPO RISA team, will host a webinar that will provide an overview of the drought and climate outlook for California and Nevada. According to the November 3rd U.S. Drought Monitor, 80.6% of CA/NV is in drought, including 31.4% in Extreme Drought (D3) and 2.4% in Exceptional Drought (D4). The typical La Niña trends towards wetter conditions in the northern part of the region and drier conditions in the southern part. Is that what the forecasts are showing too? The webinar will discuss current conditions and the outlook for the rest of a fall into winter as well as tools to prepare for, monitor, and respond to the climate conditions this winter.

The California-Nevada Drought Early Warning System (CA-NV DEWS) November 2020 Drought & Climate Outlook Webinar is part of a series of regular drought and climate outlook webinars designed to provide stakeholders and other interested parties in the region with timely information on current drought status and impacts, as well as a preview of current and developing climatic events (i.e. El Niño and La Niña).
