The Green Infrastructure, Climate, and Cities Seminar invites researchers and practitioners from around the country to come and present ideas for resilient, sustainable cities in response to climate extremes.
NOAA will provide funding to CAPA Strategies to support the Urban Heat Island mapping campaigns, a flagship NIHHIS program, to map the hottest part of communities across the country and internationally. NIHHIS is a featured program of the Climate Program Office.
These urban mitigation policies aimed at reducing CO2 emissions can worsen air quality and cause premature deaths if coemitted pollutants are not accounted for.
Americans’ health, security and economic wellbeing are tied to climate and weather. Every day, we see communities grappling with environmental challenges due to unusual or extreme events related to climate and weather.
