Physics Today has just published the article "The Arctic shifts to a new Normal," authored by Martin Jeffries, James Overland and Donald Perovich. This is an outgrowth of the 2012 release of the NOAA Arctic Report Card, a synthesis product supported by the Arctic Research Program of CPO.
Martin Jeffries is an Arctic science advisor at the US Arctic Research Commission in Arlington, Va., and a professor of geophysics at the University of Alaska Fairbanks. James Overland is a research oceanographer at NOAA’s Pacific Marine Environmental Laboratory in Seattle, Wash. and an adjunct professor of atmospheric sciences at the University of Washington. Don Perovich is a geophysicist at the U.S. Army’s Cold Regions Research and Engineering Laboratory and an adjunct professor of engineering at Dartmouth College, both in Hanover, N.H.
