The Commission for Environmental Cooperation (CEC) is an international organization created by Canada, Mexico, and the United States under the North American Agreement on Environmental Cooperation (NAAEC) and continued under the 2020 Agreement on Environmental Cooperation among the Governments of Canada, Mexico, and the United States. In 2021, the CEC initiated a 30-month project to help guide the broader implementation of nature-based solutions (NBS) for coastal Flood Risk Management (FRM) in North American cities. DHI Group has been tasked with the development of a comprehensive set of guidance documents, including a proposed methodology and indicators for monitoring the efficacy of NBS.
