On August 14-16, Brown University hosted the annual Climate Process Team meeting on Ocean Transport and Eddy Energy in Providence, Rhode Island. NOAA’s Climate Program Office (CPO) and the National Science Foundation sponsored the meeting, which brought together researchers supported by CPO’s Climate Variability & Predictability (CVP) program.
At the meeting, participants from eleven academic and federal research institutions discussed their projects, with presentations on eddy energy diagnostics, geophysical fluid dynamics, mixing processes across scales, and advancements in model parameterization. The event emphasized collaboration and aimed to enhance the impact and applicability of new research in global climate models. This collaboration will inform future publications to add to the group’s 36 published studies.
