Potential Shutdown Guidance for Climate Program Office NOFO Applicants
In the event of a government shutdown beginning on October 1st, 2023, the submission deadline for both Letters of Intent (LOIs) and full proposals will be extended by two weeks, with the exception of the FY24 CPO NOFO, which will have an extended full proposal deadline of three weeks. Additional extensions will be considered if the shutdown extends beyond two weeks. Please find the extended deadlines of each Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) below:
FY24 Climate Program Office (CPO) NOFO
- The extended deadline for full proposals will be 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time on December 8th, 2023.
FY24 NIDIS Tribal Drought Resilience with Inflation Reduction Act Support NOFO
- The extended deadline for LOIs will be 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time on November 16th, 2023.
- The extended deadline for full proposals will be 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time on February 29th, 2024.
FY24 Climate Adaptation Partnerships (CAP) Program NOFO
- The extended deadline for LOIs will be 5:00 p.m. Eastern Time on November 13th, 2023.
- The extended deadline for full proposals will be 5:00 p.m. Eastern Time on February 19th, 2024.
During a potential government shutdown, we anticipate that automated grants systems will NOT be available. For example, Grants.gov, ASAP, and GEMS. Grantees will not be able to draw down funds, nor will they be able to upload progress reports or award action requests. Applicants will not be able to submit full applications.
