CPO Staff to represent the U.S. in the UNFCCC Expert Review of U.S. National Communications

Every four years, as part of the nation’s duties under the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change, countries have to submit reports on their progress towards global emissions reduction goals and other provisions of the treaty. After each submission, a team of experts from around the world meets with authors of each country’s report to answer questions and ensure transparency and comparability of the documents. After a hiatus due to the pandemic, the international technical review on the seventh and eighth national communications will take place during the week of March 13th.

On March 13, CPO CEE’s Frank and CEE’s Haley Crim, as well as experts from USGS, Smithsonian, National Science Foundation, and the State Department, will present the chapter on Climate Education, Engagement, Workforce Development, and Training to the panel of experts. Frank Niepold has written a similar chapter for the past several National Communications.
