CPO scientist Nancy Beller-Simms spoke at the “Supporting State and Local Adaptation through Existing Federal Programs: Water Infrastructure” workshop – sponsored by the Georgetown Climate Center. The goal of the Jan. 31 workshop is to identify recommendations for integrating adaptation into key federal programs that effect state and local decision-making.
Beller-Simms was a panelist during the first session: “technical assistance,” which asked the questions: How can federal agencies develop actionable science and information or enable utilities and communities to obtain this information to support adaptation in the water sector? What resources are needed to develop climate-resilient water infrastructure?
