CPO’s Joel Levy presents Webinar on ethics of geoengineering

On Aug. 28 at 12 p.m. EST, Dr. Joel Levy from NOAA’s Climate Program Office will host a capacity building webinar focusing on the ethics of geoengineering. As international attempts to reduce greenhouse gas emissions have stalled, some scientists have proposed the development of geoengeering methodologies (sometimes referred to a climate engineering) to intentionally cool the planet’s climate. Dr. Levy plans to discuss whether climate engineering is possible and whether scientists should even attempt it. The webinar will provide an overview of ethical issues associated with climate engineering research.
