On September 16, CPO’s Juli Trtanj will serve as a speaker during the ‘Environmental Health Security’ session of the virtual 2020 Environmental Security Summit. Hosted by the Environmental Security Working Group and the National Intelligence University, the Summit will focus on health as a security issue and will specifically address the influence of climate and other environmental factors on a range of health outcomes. Trtanj will provide the framing of climate, health and security, and focus on the importance of understanding decision-maker needs in order to conduct useful research and produce actionable information. She will highlight the integrated information system approach used in the National Integrated Health Health Information System (NIHHIS), along with CPO/International Research and Applications Project-funded climate and health work. Participants will include the civil, military and intelligence communities.
