CPO’s Modeling, Analysis, Predictions, and Projections (MAPP) program hosted a virtual workshop on Bias Corrections in Subseasonal to Interannual Predictions from Sept. 30 to Oct. 2, 2014.
The aim of the workshop was to create:
- A summary document of current practices for bias correction, including ensemble spread calibration, and best practices;
- A set of research questions that are related to bias correction and calibration of sub-seasonal to interannual predictions;
- Since this is also a virtual workshop, the MAPP team examined whether a virtual approach is an effective way of communicating results and to foster research.
