This briefing took place on the sides of the AMS meeting in Atlanta. The representatives were provided updates on early successes, including the recent release of a 2013-2017 NACSP Strategy and Work Plan. This innovative trilateral partnership, established in 2012, is meant to facilitate the delivery of integrated climate services for North America.
Following the briefing, Meredith Muth from CPO moderated a special session focused on enhancing stakeholder engagement in NACSP activities.
The NACSP includes participation from several NOAA Line Offices and is coordinated by the OAR Climate Program Office. The scope of the partnership is designed to be flexible and adaptive in order to include expertise from other organizations (governmental, international, academia, private sector, non-governmental, etc.). The NACSP is a significant contribution by the three countries to the implementation of the Global Framework for Climate Services (GFCS).
