On July 11th, the Biden-Harris Administration announced $5 million funding opportunity to help communities address extreme heat through Investing in America Agenda. The funding will go towards new virtual research centers that will provide science-based support to community and government entities working to address climate and health issues. The funding competition to create these centers of excellence will be managed by the National Integrated Heat Health Information System (NIHHIS), which is led by NOAA and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and managed by NOAA’s Climate Program Office.
The NIHHIS team will host a webinar to share information about the NIHHIS FY24 IRA notice of funding opportunity and hold a Q&A.
