NOAA Climate & Global Change Postdoc Program alumna awarded the James B. Macelwane Medal

At the 2019 AGU Fall Meeting, Emily V. Fischer, Associate Professor at Colorado State University and alumna of the CPO-sponsored NOAA Climate & Global Change (C&GC) Postdoctoral Fellowship Program (Class 21, 2011-2013), received the James B. Macelwane Medal. The Macelwane Medal is awarded annually to three to five early career scientists in recognition of their significant contributions to Earth and space science. Nominees are selected for the medal based on their depth and breadth of research, impact, creativity as well as service, outreach, and diversity.

In addition to being a former C&GC Postdoc Fellow, Emily is an accomplished atmospheric chemist, a CPO funded PI, and most recently the lead of a very successful field campaign measuring wildfire smoke (WE-CAN).
