Muth will also participate in a meeting of Chairs from other Task Forces of the Intergovernmental Board on Climate Services (IBCS). Other participants in this working level meeting include UK Met Service, WHO, the UN Office for Disaster Risk Reduction (UNISDR), WMO, and the GFCS office. This meeting will result in a series of draft documents that will guide the focus of the GFCS over the next four years.
Documents will be negotiated and adopted during the 3rd meeting of the Intergovernmental Board on Climate Services (IBCS) in October. NOAA represents the U.S. government on issues related to the GFCS, and OAR/CPO’s Director Wayne Higgins serves as the U.S. principal to the IBCS – the GFCS governance body.
