Advancing scientific understanding of climate, improving society’s ability to plan and respond
Caitlin Simpson is an Economist and a Program Manager of the Climate Adaptation Partnerships program within the Climate Program Office of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA). In this role, she is part of a team that manages a network of thirteen large research-engagement teams focused on climate preparedness and adaptation issues across the U.S. She co-authored the Adaptation chapter of the Fifth National Climate Assessment and has a wealth of experience assessing and communicating findings around adaptation research. Caitlin has been working for decades in the science policy sphere and as a federal funder of climate adaptation work conducted in collaboration with state and local organizations and communities. She has a Master’s degree in environmental economics from George Washington University and a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Virginia.
