Since completing his MS in Marine Science at the University of South Florida, Todd has spent most of his career working at the intersection of science and administration, with a focus on education, student training and workforce development in the NOAA mission sciences. This trajectory began in 2004 with the Living Marine Resources Cooperative Science Center at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore, where he served as Program Manager and developed a passion for working with students. In 2012, he joined NOAA as a contractor in the Office of Program Planning and Integration (PPI), later transitioning to Office of Education (OEd) and finally the Climate Program Office (CPO), where he serves as OAR coordinator for the William M. Lapenta NOAA Student Internship Program, budget and administrative lead for the Communications, Education and Engagement Division (CEE), and  Federal Program Officer for the Climate Adaptation and Mitigation Program (CAMP). He has been a Federal employee since 2021. Todd recently celebrated 25 years of marriage to Andrea Johnson, a program officer at the National Science Foundation. When not at work, he enjoys traveling, hiking, kayaking, SCUBA diving, and studies guitar and various martial arts.
