The awards are intended to support island communities with implementing regenerative tourism projects and approaches as part of their broader efforts to build climate resilience and advance their sustainable development goals.
This effort supports a broader initiative between NOAA and DOS designed to bring science and stewardship to bear on island resilience, foster efforts to build a blue economy and support the President’s Emergency Plan for Adaptation and Resilience (PREPARE).
