An article in Water Environment and Technology (WE&T) Magazine’s February 2013 issue highlighted a collaborative project involving NOAA’s Sectoral Applications Research Program, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, and water and applied research organizations including the Water Environment Research Foundation, the Water Research Foundation, Concurrent Technologies Corporation and Noblis
The collaborative research project examines how water utilities, resource managers, and county and regional planners make decisions before and during extreme weather, and how they have adapted and expect in the future to adapt planning efforts to better prepare. This effort began in August 2010 with a 2-day workshop and will culminate this year after a series of workshops across the country.
