Research funded by COM, CVP, and GOMO, investigates current Argo floats and provides recommendations for future deployment of a new fleet that can measure biogeochemical variables
New research supported by CPO’s Climate Observation Division looks into whether or not its possible to provide NOAA Global Drifter Program data at hourly resolution. This research, “A global surface drifter data set at hourly resolution,” was published in the Journal of Geophysical Research: Oceans on April 4, 2016.
In 2014, NOAA’s Climate Program Office, led by Director Wayne Higgins, went through the process of rearticulating its mission, vision, and unique value through the development of the CPO Strategic Plan. The office also made major progress on an Implementation Plan that provides a roadmap to achieving important outcomes in climate science.
