Climate change is fueling long-term drought and extreme heat in the West and Southern Plains. These July webinars will provide the latest information on conditions and outlooks as well as the serious impacts to diverse sectors of the economy and communities.
RISA organized a panel and a poster session at the Global Council for Science and the Environment 2022 Annual Conference which took place virtually from June 21-24th. The sessions explored examples of transformative change that RISA teams have accomplished in their regions, as well as some of the recent innovative approaches RISA has taken to address climate adaptation.

The NOAA’s Climate Education Program will be joining other state leaders at the 2022 Annual Meeting to develop multi-state collaboratives to advance Climate Change Education.

This CPO-supported team helped gather stakeholder input to inform future updates to the Great Lakes ice forecast model. Specifically, they provided recommendations for development of the user interface, and worked to better characterize user information needs that NOAA may be able to address.
The workshop, funded as part of a NOAA RISA planning grant to establish a regional “Heat + Housing + Health Equity Network” for the Southeastern U.S., will be held on June 23.
The June 15th meeting with the coordinators of the Chicago Climate Action Plan will focus on the theme of building a Climate-Ready Nation.
