NOAA’s Climate Variability and Predictability (CVP) Program is funding eight new projects (10 academic awards, four NOAA Lab, Center or CI awards) for a two-year total of $3.961 million in FY18 intended to contribute to the goals of TPOS 2020.
An EOS project update on the MAPP S2S Prediction Task Force has been published. A task force of researchers set out to bridge the gap between the 2-week weather forecast and long-term climate predictions; their findings could help in forecasting the likelihood of extreme events.

The CPO ESSM Workshop and Council Meeting will be held in Civic Center in Downtown Silver Spring, Maryland on November 6-7, 2018. The purpose of the workshop is to bring together key CPO partners and stakeholders, both internal and external to NOAA to discuss CPO’s climate and Earth system research priorities and partnership strategies over the next 1-5 years.
