Looking back: A year of forecasts, partnerships and climate information

The International Research Institute for Climate and Society recently released an article taking a look back at their work over the past year, as well as a look ahead to future work this year. 
The International Research and Applications Project (IRAP), funded by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration and the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), supports IRI and the University of Arizona to develop tools and frameworks with local organizations that will increase climate resilience in these vulnerable regions.

A look back at 2014: NOAA Climate Program Office articulates roadmap for future progress in climate science

In 2014, NOAA’s Climate Program Office, led by Director Wayne Higgins, went through the process of rearticulating its mission, vision, and unique value through the development of the CPO Strategic Plan. The office also made major progress on an Implementation Plan that provides a roadmap to achieving important outcomes in climate science.

Integrating Climate Information and Decision Processes for Regional Climate Resilience in the Caribbean

 

NOAA is pleased to present the first IRAP report, entitled “Integrating Climate Information and Decision Processes for Regional Climate Resilience in the Caribbean”.  The report synthesizes a workshop held in Kingston, Jamaica, May 29-30, 2014, sponsored by NOAA and USAID, in collaboration with the Caribbean Institute for Meteorology and Hydrology.

NOAA’s Climate Program Office (CPO) is announcing the Federal Funding Opportunity for Fiscal Year 2015

NOAA’s Climate Program Office (CPO) is announcing the Federal Funding Opportunity for Fiscal Year 2015. Pending final budget appropriations, CPO expects approximately $15.5 million will be available through the announcement, and anticipates nearly 100 new awards  between $50,000 to $200,000 each, with multi-year RISA awards ranging from $600,000 to $700,000 per year.
