COCA/SARP to Host Webinar for Managing Water Resources Along the Coast Community of Practice

On Wednesday, December 2, from 2-3 pm ET, CPO’s Coastal and Ocean Climate Applications Program (COCA) and Sectoral Applications Research Program (SARP), in conjunction with NOAA’s Office for Coastal Management, will host a webinar titled “Investing in Adaptation: Design through Implementation.” The webinar is the third in a series designed to explore science and research topics relevant to the “Managing Water Resources Along the Coast” community of practice.

The webinar will focus on climate adaptation investments and strategies to build more resilient communities, as well as the challenges and costs of incorporating climate considerations into local planning efforts.  

Speakers include:  

  • Ben Cohen, Director at Quantified Ventures, an impact investment intermediary firm that specializes in structuring outcomes-based financing, notably Social and Environmental Impact Bonds;
  • Dr. Yu Zhang, Associate Professor, Civil Engineering, University of Texas Arlington; and 
  • Dr. Philip Orton, Research Associate Professor of Ocean Engineering, Stevens Institute of Technology.
