For over 15 years, NOAA’s Regional Integrated Sciences and Assessments (RISA) program has been supporting research teams that conduct interdisciplinary and regionally relevant research to inform resource management, planning’ and public policy. The program’s new 2015 Annual Meeting Report provides a summary of insights and outcomes from the meeting which involved knowledge transfer around research themes, as well as a discussion of the practice of user-driven research. The report describes the RISA program as well as the work and specific themes (strengthening usable science practice, exploring integration, and regional partnerships) that were used to frame the meeting.
