CPO announces FY16 Federal Funding Opportunities

CPO’s Programs are seeking applications for 10 individual competitions in FY 2016. A multimedia report is now available for the 2015 El Niño Conference held November 17-18, 2015 in Palisades, NY. Looking back: A year of forecasts, partnerships and climate information

The International Research Institute for Climate and Society recently released an article taking a look back at their work over the past year, as well as a look ahead to future work this year. 
The International Research and Applications Project (IRAP), funded by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration and the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), supports IRI and the University of Arizona to develop tools and frameworks with local organizations that will increase climate resilience in these vulnerable regions.

A look back at 2014: NOAA Climate Program Office articulates roadmap for future progress in climate science

In 2014, NOAA’s Climate Program Office, led by Director Wayne Higgins, went through the process of rearticulating its mission, vision, and unique value through the development of the CPO Strategic Plan. The office also made major progress on an Implementation Plan that provides a roadmap to achieving important outcomes in climate science.
