The competition lead will hold an informational webinar which will provide information on the competition, the letter of intent, and application requirements.
The webinar will highlight the recent expansion of a coastal drought monitoring tool across the Gulf of Mexico and Eastern Seaboard.
The forum will bring stakeholders, decision makers, and drought experts together to address worsening drought conditions in the US Southwest with the goal of supporting communities impacted by ongoing water scarcity and building long-term drought resilience in the region.
The three-part webinar series is designed to help water utilities professionals better plan for and mitigate drought impacts and advance long-term drought resilience.
The workshop will convene leaders in soil moisture research and development to exchange ideas, highlight new applications of soil moisture data, and identify research needs.
An informational webinar will be held on Wednesday, July 14, 2021 at 3 p.m. EDT to discuss the background of the programs and expectations for this competition, as well as to address questions related to the development and submission of letters of intent and proposals.

The webinar will include an update on the current drought situation and outlook, an overview of wildland fire conditions, and will feature perspectives from on-the-ground responders about the worsening drought conditions in the West.
As drought in the Northern Plains continues to worsen, this webinar series will provide Tribal Nations up-to-date information on drought and its impacts, as well as related resources to help them prepare and respond.
The recent webinar provided stakeholders and other interested parties in the region with timely information on the current drought status and outlook, as well as the wildland fire potential outlook.
