Amber Liggett, a Communications Analyst in CPO’s Communication, Education, and Engagement (CEE) Division, will be participating in two climate justice panel discussions in the upcoming UCAR Center for Science Education virtual event as part of Bard College’s Worldwide Teach-in for Climate/Justice to be held on March 30, 2022. In addition to Amber, whose background is in meteorology, emergency management, and communication, other panelists include an NCAR climate scientist, a CIRES research associate and a youth panelist. There will be a different youth panelist for each session. The moderator is an NSF graduate research fellow in environmental studies.
There will be two 60-minute discussions about climate change, actions, hope, and why justice is a critical component of the solution to climate change. The events are open to everyone, though middle and high school students are encouraged to join in the interactive discussion. Pre-registration is required to submit questions and engage with the panelists.
