The U.S. Global Change Research Program, supported by the CPO/CEE division, is closing a robust public comment period and moving to the federal writing team to update the 2009 Climate Literacy Guide.
Input is sought to inform an update to the guide to reflect advances in climate science, solutions, and justice.
This working group will focus on coordinating global climate efforts across federal agencies, and promote education, community engagement, and training on climate-related issues and solutions.
This interagency effort will result in the document’s first update since 2009, a highly necessary task given the advances in climate science and shift in public awareness and capacity to make informed decisions.
The article summarizes the outcomes of a set of online training sessions that were designed to improve general climate literacy among health professionals and to encourage effective doctor-patient communications about how climate change impacts human health.
