RISA organized a panel and a poster session at the Global Council for Science and the Environment 2022 Annual Conference which took place virtually from June 21-24th. The sessions explored examples of transformative change that RISA teams have accomplished in their regions, as well as some of the recent innovative approaches RISA has taken to address climate adaptation.
Next week’s conference will address ways to build capacity to climate crisis and other challenges through productive civic engagement at the scale necessary for a genuinely democratic response across our cities and regions, coastal communities and Western landscapes.
The conference supports on-the-ground resilience efforts, contributes to the development of a climate information network for the Carolinas, and provides a venue for practitioners, resource managers, and researchers to share and collaborate.

Wayne Higgins, director of OAR’s Climate Program Office and the U.S. principal to the IBCS, will head the U.S. delegation to the second meeting of the Intergovernmental Board on Climate Services (IBCS-2) on November 10-14 in Geneva, Switzerland.
