MERT organizes first of series of NOAA Research-Office of National Marine Sanctuaries discussions

Organized by CPO’s Marine Ecosystem Risk Team (MERT), on August 12th NOAA Research labs will present recent research activities and existing data tools to the Office of National Marine Sanctuaries (ONMS) Research Coordinators to kick off a series of discussions between NOAA Research and ONMS. Talks will focus on NOAA Research regional ocean modeling activities.

These discussions are an early step in achieving the goal of increased connectivity between NOAA Research capabilities and sanctuary climate information needs under CPO's Marine Ecosystems Risk Team (MERT) initiative. MERT is a cross-program team with contributions from all CPO divisions, as well as ONMS. The goal of this project is to reinforce and expand the application of climate science in National Marine Sanctuaries activities to support NOAA’s Stewardship mission.
